Citations and Thank You's
First I need to say a HUGE thank you to the American Band College. It's more than a master's program; It's a family.
You've changed my life in countless ways. Thanks and love to the staff and all of my colleagues and fellow teachers. "Thank you for being in my life!"
Next, thank you to the rock star bassoonist and educator Dr. Jason Worzbyt of Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
The vast majority of what I know about bassoon I learned from him at ABC 2017, and what he taught us is the core of this website. Just assume the entire site is one gigantic citation to his encyclopedic knowledge and to his thorough and entertaining lectures, as well as his thoughtfully composed handouts in the 2017 ABC book. He's a masterful teacher and musician and is a really down to earth, genuine guy. Thanks Jason. Your teaching and your caring touches lives.
A HUGE thank you to Anna Stipe, bassonist and educator extraordinaire, wonderful friend, and helpful colleague. Her bassoon advice over the years has been transformative, and her video and still photo examples extremely helpful to this website, all of which are used by permission. You should learn play bassoon just to have her as a colleague.
Thank you to Megan, Clara, and Alison Swart, who helped with and are the subject of many of the pictures. Students like you are why I love teaching.
